Located just steps from one of Minneapolis' beloved lakes, this custom new construction home was designed to balance modern aesthetics with the practical needs of everyday family life. Clean architectural lines, warm materials, and expansive windows create a bright, inviting environment that seamlessly connects the interior to the outdoor living spaces, including a resort-inspired pool and terrace. Thoughtful planning was central to the home's design, with distinct zones that provide both connection and privacy. Emily Anderson is the founder and principal designer of Emily Anderson Interiors. With over 15 years of experience in residential interior design, Emily is known for creating interiors that balance beauty with livability—homes that feel refined, welcoming, and designed to stand the test of time.
Emily began her career with one of Minneapolis's leading high-end residential design firms, where she spent 15 years collaborating on custom homes and renovations throughout the Twin Cities. During that time, she developed her signature approach: classic interiors that prioritize thoughtful layouts, enduring materials, and spaces that function beautifully for the families who live in them.
Emily's appreciation for homes began early. She grew up in South Minneapolis in a 1930s Tudor, where she developed a deep love for the character and craftsmanship of older houses. Her family owns Ace Hardware stores, and working there throughout her childhood gave her an early familiarity with the materials and practical details that make homes both functional and lasting.
Emily holds NCIDQ Certification, the industry's leading professional credential for interior designers, reflecting her expertise in design, building systems and professional practice.
Today Emily lives in Lakeville, Minnesota with her three young children. As both a designer and a homeowner, she understands how important it is for spaces to support the rhythms of everyday life—from busy kitchens to comfortable gathering spaces for family and friends.
Known for her collaborative spirit and kindness, Emily works closely with clients, architects, builders, and remodelers to create a process that feels thoughtful and flexible. She believes the best projects come from strong partnerships and a shared vision for the home.

Every project begins with an in-home consultation. During this meeting, we'll walk through your space, discuss your goals, and talk through any challenges you're facing. Whether you're planning a new build, remodel, furnishings project, this is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine the best path forward. Consultations are approximately 1–2 hours and are billed at a flat rate of $300.
